Location & Mobility

The Kreis Offenbach benefits from its location in the metropolitan region FrankfurtRheinMain. From Rhineland-Palatinate to Bavaria about 5.7 million people live in 18 districts and 7 independent cities.

More than 2.2 million employees paying social security earn a per-capita gross domestic product of approcinately 77,000 Euros. This puts FrankfurtRheinMain at the top of the European metropolitan regions.

Air transport

In the north-west, the district borders directly on Frankfurt Airport - one of the largest hubs in the world. Thus we offer optimal connections to more than 300 destinations in over 100 countries. Almost all European capitals are two hours or less away.

A popular alternative for business travelers is the airfield Frankfurt-Egelsbach - the largest airfield for general aviation in Germany. What the Frankfurt Airport means for commercial aviation, Frankfurt-Egelsbach means for general aviation, particularly business aviation. All European destinations can be reached quickly and easily from the south-west of the district, 365 days a year.

Rail connections

Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund, the transportation association, ensures quick connections within the region. Especially professional commuters appreciate Germany's second-largest regional transportation association. You can quickly and easily reach Frankfurt from all cities and municipalities in the Kreis Offenbach without changing trains. In the east district you have access to the Odenwaldbahn for this purpose. In other municipalities you have S-Bahn connections.

Depending on the starting point in the district, the main train stations Frankfurt, Offenbach, Hanau, Aschaffenburg, Darmstadt, and the long-distance connection at the airport are just a few minutes away and thus provide quick access to major cities in Germany and across Europe. One of the largest stations in Europe, Frankfurt Main Station, is nearby.

Street network

The two busiest highways in the north-south and east-west direction, A5 and A3, intersect directly at the district boundary to Frankfurt. Other additional highways also connect with the district. Many cities and municipalities have direct highway connections. The remaining ones can reach highway ramps in less than ten minutes via well-developed federal roads. This means that the Kreis Offenbach also has excellent connections to the European highway system.

A high-capacity street network ensures that routes within the district are also fast.
